— Travel, Greece, Meteora — 1 min read
As it always happens before a trip, I went to bed late last night and I was sleepy the following morning. However, it was a hot sunny day and we were excited about the upcoming journey - a road trip to Lefkada and Kefalonia.
In fact, we started our journey on the previous day, by traveling from Rakovski, Bulgaria to Sofia, Bulgaria which is like 150 km.
So, our next target was to cross the border with Greece.
According to Google Maps, it should have taken us approximately 2 hours (180 km) to the border crosspoint (Kulata/Promahonas) + another 40-50 minutes to pass the border passport control.
'During pandemic' has its place not just in the title of this post. As you can guess, it was not trivial to pass the Bulgaria/Greece border as it is in normal circumstances.
We had to wait like 6 (yes, six) hours on the road, so we decided to at least do something instead of just wait...
Around 18:00 PM, we were encouraged by the following sign:
We had the foresight to book a place in Meteora, Greece (and good thing that we did) for the night, instead of going straight to Lefkada.
4 hours and 350 km later, in complete darkness, we were in front of the entrance of Hotel Pyrgos Adrachti.
